FREEEDOM!

One of the most visceral movie scenes I know.

William Wallace. Strapped to the table, by the enemy.

He knows what's coming.

And from somewhere deeper than pain — deeper than fear — it tears out of him.

FREEEDOM.

Every man who has ever watched that scene felt something move in him. Not just emotion. Something essential. A recognition.

Because we are all searching for it.

Financial freedom. Freedom from the nine to five. Freedom to choose where you live, how you spend your days, who you give your time to.

Freedom through ejaculation — from being owned by your desire.

Freedom from responsibility.

Underneath every version of that search is the same feeling.

I am trapped by life.

And so men do what feels logical. Resist structure. Avoid commitment. Keep options open. Stay fluid.

And stay completely stuck.

Even transcendence into consciousness can become a mediocre pursuit. 

As long as we chose the world.  

Freedom is not found in open space.

It is built inside a well-held container.

A container that nurtures you. Challenges you. Keep expanding toward the edges of what you are capable of.

Like the banks of a river, which in tantric understanding is the channeled form of shakti. 

The feminine holds the masculine so he can move with full force. Or the other way round.. It is applied consciousness, and that takes a hell of a lot more effort than just being consciousness on the mountain.

Without banks, the river floods. Spread thin. Loses direction. Loses power.

The man with no container isn't free.

He is just endlessly available to distraction.

Bruce Lee said it simply ‘I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 different kicks. But the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times’

The container of your practice is what allows the 10,000 repetitions.

And repetition is devotion, and we are all devoted to something, weather that something is serving our path or not.. 

So I want to ask you something genuinely —

What container are you currently devoted to?

A practice. A commitment. A decision you've made and kept making every day.
