You know you are on your purpose when..

There is a place most men spend their entire lives just outside of.

Not catastrophe. Not crisis.

Something subtler. Something that hums underneath the surface of every real decision.

The Edge.

The place where the old pattern hasn't released and the new one hasn't solidified yet. Where something in you wants to move forward and something else is doing everything it can to pull you back to comfortable ground.

Most men circle this place their whole lives.

Move closer. Feel it. Contract back.

Try again later. Same result.

I've done this. More times than I want to count. Changed direction. Renamed it.

Called it something new. Convinced myself that this is the thing - men's work, yoga, this teaching, that path.

At some point you have to stop circling.

Life moves in a spiral. It always has. The patterning of it. That's the nature of it, how life takes form.

But most of us just surface toward something new and when it gets too close to the edge we reverse back.

Back into the known.

And to be honest, the edge is the place where results haven’t presented themselves yet.

We do something, and before it's even off the ground, we have found proof why this wouldn't work either.

To create a real gap in that spiral -  to actually start navigating in a new direction - you have to walk firmly enough, long enough, that the spiral itself starts to shift.

That takes something most men underestimate.

Not motivation. Not intensity.

Perseverance. And trust.

A couple of years ago I signed up for a training with world renowned teacher John Wineland.

I had been looking at his trainings for years.

And honestly, I had often been disgusted by the price.

(I mean this man treats his feminine well bro)

It was a whole year's pay for me.

Logically it made absolutely no sense.

But something kept pulling me.

I remember the moment the answer came clearly-

Lying on a mat in a yin yoga class. Staring up at the ceiling in a universal side twist.

And the voice came through, super clear and from nothing.

You know you are on your purpose when it is uncomfortable.

The first thing I thought..

God damn it!!

Not peace. Not clarity. Fear mixed with excitement.

The decision had been made.

I walked home extra slowly and signed up, almost cussing.

It healed something in me - the belief that there was always something better out there. Better teachers to learn with, better practices..

It became one of the most grounding experiences of my life.

The thing that took everything I had been teaching and rooted it into what I actually offer today.

And my search after that.. Over!

The discomfort wasn't the warning.

It was the confirmation.

That's what the edge actually is.

Not the place where something is wrong.

The place where something new is moving..

The men who transform are not the ones who never hit edges.

They are the ones who learned to recognise the edge as the signal - and walk toward it anyway.

Not recklessly. Not by forcing anything open.

By trusting that sustained presence in uncomfortable territory is the only thing that actually creates something new.

Like a 22 minute tree pose..

Recalibrate when you need to. Rest when you need to.

But when the path is set - walk.

The ones who create real change are not the ones who found an easier route.

They are the ones who stayed.

What edge have you been circling, and contracted from?

The one you already know.

Hit reply. Share with me.

In love and service
